Hello! Today is a great day. We're coming out of the shadows for the first time.

On this site, you will find information about our project, Gods of Gaea, images that relate the various works of our artists, information about the team behind the project, as well as this forum.

In this privileged place, we will be able to discuss together the game and its content. Here, we offer you here to participate in the development of the game, whether through feedback, participation in playtests, suggestions or lively discussions on the content, we will be listening to the community formed around our universe.

It's you who will help take us in the right direction because after all, it's you who will determine whether or not the implemented features are fun or not. Our goal? To make the best game possible! No game is good if it is not co-produced by the people who play it.   

As a first step, we propose you to ask your questions here, to make a Q&A that will be used to detail the overall features planned for the game for the site's users and to start discussing the elements we will propose.

Finally, we are currently in the pre-production phase, so we are building the technical and artistic elements that will allow us to produce playable versions. It is the ideal time for you to come!

Will the game include fluctuating values for tradeable resources?

 

We have planned to introduce a complex resources management system, but we still have to test some features we are not sure about. Amongst them, we planned to include a money creation/management system with whom player (and IA) will be able to make monetary wars with neighbours or inside their own empire (it will be region-based, so you can have different moneys with different money value in different regions in your empire).

This feature implies value fluctuation for trade goods. But we have several questions about it, as it is particularely complex and we are affraid that it complexifies the player experience too much. So it final implementation will depend on players returns.

Anyway, we wil at least have a cargo-based trading system, which means that when you send resources between two regions, a cart will spawn in the 4X map and will move from city to city. On the path, it will be... lootable ! So trading will depend a lot of the security level of your borders. And it will be a lot harder to send resources and trade if you are at war. On the other side, in a long-term war, you will have the opportunity to close commercial lines of your ennemy instead of confronting his armies directly.

On top of that, we are also thinking about a price variation feature, which means that you can break prices on a local market by selling underpriced trade goods. It will be a part of the "economical war" features we plan to implement.
